Launch & Linger participates in affiliate programs. When you click certain outbound links and make a purchase or booking, we earn a commission at no additional cost to you. This page exists so you know exactly when, why, and how that happens — per FTC 16 CFR Part 255 guidelines.
The short version
- Some of the outbound links on this site are affiliate links. They route through
/go/<slug>on our domain and 302-redirect to a partner with a tracking parameter that credits us if you buy or book. - The recommendation is independent of the commission. We name the place we'd send a friend, and then see if there's a partner program for it. If there's not, we still link the place.
- Editorial outbound links (a state park's website, a city's tourism site, the SpaceX launch page) are not affiliate links — they're routed through our
/go/namespace for click tracking and portability, but no commission flows. - You will never pay more because of an affiliate link. You may pay slightly less in some cases (when partners offer affiliate-tagged promo codes).
Programs we participate in (or are pending)
- Amazon Associates — gear recommendations (binoculars, sunscreen, etc.). Tag:
launchlinger-20(pending approval as of May 2026). - Booking.com — hotel bookings, via the Travelpayouts bridge.
- VRBO & Hotels.com — vacation rentals and hotel bookings, via Commission Junction (CJ).
- Viator — tours and experiences (wine tours, etc.), via Awin.
- PODS, U-Haul, HireAHelper — relocation/moving services, mostly via CJ (pending approval).
- Direct partner UTM links — some local businesses get a tagged outbound link for click attribution but no commission flows.
What we don't do
- We don't accept paid placements disguised as editorial.
- We don't write reviews of properties we haven't visited (or, in the case of bookable properties via OTAs, properties we have not verified as real listings).
- We don't take payment to list a place. If a restaurant or hotel pitches us, our standard answer is "if it's worth a recommendation, we'll write it ourselves — no money changes hands either way."
- We don't pretend non-affiliate links are commercial. The
/go/wrapper is for click tracking, not deception.
Questions or corrections
If you think we've missed disclosing a material commercial relationship, or you want to know whether a specific outbound link earns us a commission, email hello@launchandlinger.com and we'll answer plainly.
